This Call is being issued on behalf of the SAPAA Nominating Committee to identify qualified members to run for a position on the SAPAA Board of Directors. Elected members shall serve a 3-year term beginning August 24, 2017 and concluding at the Association’s Annual Meeting in 2020.

There are six positions available on the Board of Directors, including positions held by outgoing Board members eligible to run for an additional term.

ELIGIBILITY:  Each candidate shall be registered as a representative of a Class A, Class B, or Lifetime SAPAA organizational membership that has been a member in good standing for at least one calendar year. No more than one representative from a membership may serve on the Board of Directors at a time.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: As outlined in the SAPAA Bylaws (available upon request), the management of the properties, affairs, activities, and concerns of the Association shall be vested in the Board of Directors. To that end, the members of the Board of Directors shall:

  • Transact the general business of the Association, except where reserved for the Association members.
  • Establish the general policies of the Association.
  • Appoint standing and special committees of the Association.
  • Serve on at least one SAPAA committee.

Additionally, Board members are expected to attend in-person Board meeting(s) held in conjunction with SAPAA’s Annual Conference, along with periodic teleconference Board meetings.

DECLARING INTEREST: Eligible candidates are asked to complete a Candidate Info Sheet (linked on this page), which includes a brief biography, interest statement, and photo. This form is available at or by contacting the SAPAA office at 1-800-672-7229. Candidates will be contacted by a member of the Nominating Committee to review their submission prior to the Committee selecting the election slate.

All eligible members must complete this form.  The information provided will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee and will be used on the election ballot should you be selected to run.  Your contact information will not be included on the ballot and will only be used by the Nominating Committee to reach you.

One of the available Board positions will be assume a seat vacated by the resignation of a Board member.  The person elected to that seat will serve the remaining 2 years of the term.
